Seadrift Visitor Centre
The natural history display at the Seadrift Visitor Centre introduces you to life around Dunnet Bay and beyond, season by season.
Discover about whales, dolphins and porpoises from our amazing collection of cetacean skulls. Our display of nesting seabirds is fascinating. Use our telescope and binoculars to look out over Dunnet Bay to spot the local wildlife.
Step on our scales to see if you weigh as much as a harbour porpoise. Are you and your friends combined as heavy as a leather back turtle? How do you measure up? Are you the same size as the wingspan of a gannet or as tall as a roe deer?
Interactive computer displays allow a virtual trip around Caithness to study other subjects such as local history, geology and archaeology. The display has plenty to keep visitors of all ages interested for hours.
The Seadrift Visitor Centre is also the base for the Highland Council Rangers who run a full programme of public events throughout the season.
