Great Glen Way Closures

9th March 2015 – The Great Glen Ways is currently closed between Aberchalder and Fort Augustus with the high flood waters due to rain and snow melt. Please find an alternative way around. Please do not attempt to use this section of the route. As soon as we have more information it will be posted here. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The Great Glen Way is also closed between Clunes and Kilfinnan due to a major landslip (top road has gone and ended up on bottom road), order FCS have an engineer going out this morning to look at it, viagra they will try and get it cleared as soon as possible.

The route is also closed from Gairlochy to Achnacarry due to very high loch level and the path is under water. Users are asked to use the B8005 as an alternative.

UPDATE  – 11/3/15 – 10:15: The towpath that was washed out between Kytra and Cullochy is now passable with care. Please be aware of major civil engineering works at Cullochy – walkers are asked to cross the lock gates and follow the south towpath.

UPDATE – 11/3/15 – 16:10: Due to the affects of windblow, the Great Glen Way at Blackfold is closed. In addition to that, the route is also closed from Bunloit to Clunebeg.
