A spring session exploring the variety of plants used as remedies by early medical practitioners in the Highlands. The first in this series of 3 walks takes place close to the ancestral home of the Beatons of Skye, discount hereditary physicians to the Lords of the Isles. Some of the plants, clinic like valerian and lesser celandine are still in use as medicines today whilst others like bogbean and white water lily have long fallen into disuse. Booking essential.
